Here’s all the info you need about hand washing, ingredients, fragrances and other Soak stuff. Don't see what you’re looking for? Just ask.
What is no rinse?
No-rinse means just that. You don't have to rinse it - really. Because Soak is a low-suds liquid, the dirt and detergent come out in the water and whatever is left in the item evaporates. When you squeeze out the water all that's left behind is a hint of fragrance that dissipates over time. You can rinse if you want, but rinsing won't affect how Soak cleans. It just removes the fragrances. Because no-rinse requires less agitation, it's easier on fabrics. Plus, the process uses less water, which is good for the planet.
Is hand washing hard?
Nope. All it takes is a quick Soak. Soon you’ll want to hand wash all your delicates. In fact, we have a whole bunch of customers who have stopped taking their stuff the dry cleaner and just Soak everything now – because it’s easier.
Is it Organic?
Soak is environmentally friendly, biodegradable and the bottles are both recyclable and printed with water-based inks, however, it is not organic. Organic and all-natural products tend to need to be refrigerated and have short shelf lives; Soak is a stable product that will not fog or separate over time
What are Carrie and Phil made from?
Our multi-purpose carry-alls are made from virgin low density polyethylene to food grade and toy safety standards. The material does not include phthalates.
Can you please tell me basic hand washing instructions?
Pour one teaspoon (or one squirt) into a sink or tub of cool water. Soak your item for 15 minutes, then gently squeeze out the water. No need to rinse. Some color may bleed into the water – don’t worry; this won’t harm your garment or yarn. Lay knit items flat to dry. Wash sets (like lingerie) together. Want more info about washing knits? See our tips page or read our article in Knit Simple magazine.
Can I use Soak in the machine?
